¹ "Why are times not stored up by the Almighty,

² "Some remove the landmarks;

³ "They drive away the donkeys of the orphans;

⁴ "They push the needy aside from the road;

⁵ "Behold, as wild donkeys in the wilderness

⁶ "They harvest their fodder in the field

⁷ "They spend the night naked, without clothing,

⁸ "They are wet with the mountain rains

⁹ "Others snatch the orphan from the breast,

¹⁰ "They cause the poor to go about naked without clothing,

¹¹ "Within the walls they produce oil;

¹² "From the city men groan,

¹³ "Others have been with those who rebel against the light;

¹⁴ "The murderer arises at dawn;

¹⁵ "The eye of the adulterer waits for the twilight,

¹⁶ "In the dark they dig into houses,

¹⁷ "For the morning is the same to him as thick darkness,

¹⁸ "They are insignificant on the surface of the water;

¹⁹ "Drought and heat consume the snow waters,

²⁰ "A mother will forget him;

²¹ "He wrongs the barren woman

²² "But He drags off the valiant by His power;

²³ "He provides them with security, and they are supported;

²⁴ "They are exalted a little while, then they are gone;

²⁵ "Now if it is not so, who can prove me a liar,
